History of Hotwheels Power Hockey Team

Founded in 2009 by Justin Verzaal, the team began when Justin attended Camp Carefree in Stokesdale North Carolina and saw the Carolina Fury perform a demonstration of Power Hockey. Justin immediately feel in love with the sport!. After visiting Jonathan Greeson, the Founder of the Carolina Fury, and the rest of the team, Justin was discouraged knowing if he wanted to play, he would have to drive 3 hours away! Justin then realized that he could start a team in Wil-mington and that is exactly what he did in 2009. In the 7 years following, the Hotwheels Power Hockey Team grew and played all over the state. Justin Verzaal passed away in 2016, but his legacy of Hotwheels Power Hockey lives on at ACCESS of Wilmington, Inc.

Hotwheels Power Hockey Team is made possible by generous donations to the Justin Verzaal Memorial Fund.
