SERVING VEterans & FIrst Responders

At ACCESS of Wilmington, the power of connection, recreation, and community is transforming the lives of Veterans and First Responders. Project SOAR (Sports, Outreach, Adapted Recreation) has created an inclusive space for Veterans, many of whom have service-connected disabilities and illnesses, and all First Responders to reconnect with their health, well-being, and each other. For Veterans who have transitioned from military to civilian life, Project SOAR offers more than just a chance to get outdoors — it offers hope, camaraderie, and a new sense of purpose. We regularly serve more than 75 Veterans and have outreach to hundreds more through our collaboration with multiple Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs).
