Final act and winner of the Josie Award for Country Music Duo of the Year, Velvet Rodeo has been making waves and garnering serious attention in the country music industry. Their incredible love story and their passion for country music will be featured on the reality show Heart Strings, on the American Country Network! They have already had the privilege to share stages with many acclaimed artists such as Clay Walker, Little Texas, and Jelly Roll.

Also playing is BELLES, Nashville’s newest country sensation! Drawing inspiration from legends like Loretta Lynn and June Carter Cash, BELLES reimagines the classic country sound where vintage charm collides with modern, dreamy vocals, creating a bridge between the Grand Ole Opry and the vibrant, boundary-pushing future of country.

The second act is Ruby Leigh, hailing from Foley, Missouri. Ruby made her national debut as the runner-up on Season 24 of The Voice, where she captivated audiences with her authentic country sound and signature yodeling. Since then, Ruby has continued her meteoric rise, performing at the Grand Ole Opry twice, a milestone few young artists achieve. Her ability to channel the soul of classic country music has made her a standout in the industry. Ruby’s powerful voice went viral after her performance of the National Anthem at Nissan Stadium, which amassed millions of views online and introduced her to an even wider audience.

Opening the evening is Scott Walker, a singer/songwriter living in the Big Bend of Texas. He plays in the dusty beer joints and on porches around Terlingua, Texas. Scott is known for his live band feel and foot-stomping tunes, often described as a blend of classic country and garage band rock. Scott is also the Uncle of a longtime ACCESS of Wilmington’s very own Walker Berry!

Proceeds from the Sounds of Freedom Benefit Concert will go to Access of Wilmington’s Project SOAR, adapting sports and recreation benefiting all Veterans with Disabilities and first responders.

22 Veterans commit suicide daily in the US (VA); Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for Vets under 45 (VA), and 1 in 3 First Responders suffer from PTSD (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration). For Veterans who have transitioned from military to civilian life, SOAR offers more than just a chance to get outdoors — it offers hope, camaraderie, and a new sense of purpose. Help Support our Veterans and First Responders!
